new dvd burner worked but then just stoped burning but still reads

ok i just got a plextor dvd writer and i was burning some movies and they worked fine but now when i do the same thing it says that its all good but yet it does not do it right the dvds that i burn now after going through the same prosses it wont work they dont read on any dvd reader i tried like 5 dvd players and they dont work i wasted like 13 blank dvds trying this out and i dont know what needs to be done to get it working again some one pleas help me

I would return it before its store/manufacturer warranty expires. not very common with Plextor but it sounds like you got a lemon!

 

are you sure is there not another way because my parents got in florida and we live like 14 hours away from there

it did work fine but it stop burning them right i think it might not be the burner thats the problem it may be my computer is there any way i can find out something about that please

oh and i for got to say something about the proble see the dvd burner does work because when i want to make a dvd of say like a home video i use dvd arcetect or whatr ever its called but any ways that works for me but if i want to back up one of the movies that i bout in a store say the matrix ill use dvd decrypter then go to dvd shrink then ill just take the files and burn them on a blank dvd with record now and it work for like 6 dvds and the it just kind of stop i tryed and tryed the same prosess over and over again i tryed new things but it just aint working the programes say that it sucssesful but when i pull out my dvd there is a small ring where it only burnt and all the dvds that i burnt that did not work has a ring on the dvd as in it did not move very far on the dvd however the dvds that did burn right there is not ring on it and it looks like the bottom of any dvd you would buy in a store
and when im talking about the ring on the dvd i think it meanes that its not filling out the whole dvd


so please help me and give me more options than turning it back because i dont think that where going to be able to do that

 

I may have missed something, but I didn't see where you mentioned your burning software. If the drive will burn with one type of burning software but not another, then I would suspect the software. Were you using a demo version of anything?
