new dvd/cd burner and player problems

I try to load a dvd in cyberlink powerdvd 6 software that came with it and when it loads up it gets a error report everytime.. C:\DOCUME~1\Owner\LOCALS~1\Temp\47fa_appcompat.txt.., C:\DOCUME~1\Owner\LOCALS~1\Temp\6598_appcompat.txt, comes up with a new error every time, Also before I had this new software I used to be able to watch dvd's on windows media or interactual video something like that, and it gives me the error. Windows Media Player cannot play the DVD because a problem occurred with digital copyright protection. Iono why all of a sudden it stopped working, and it stopped working before i got the new hardware and software, now they both dont let me play dvd's any suggestions?
