   I put in a new dvd drive & my bios doesnt recognize it & windows wont boot even if I unplug new drive. Dell precision 380

   Check the jumpers, and make sure that the IDE cable is plugged in properly. Also, when you get the jumpers set correctly, go into the Bios, and check the settings. If you have a camera, take pic's of the jumpers, and the bios screen, and post back.
