New DVDRW drive not being recognized

I recently installed a Lite-On DVDRW combo drive into my system. When I boot up the light blink and drive will open if I push the button but when windows loads I get no response from the drive and it doesn not show in My Computer.

Upon checking my hardware devices it says that a CD/DVD-RW SCSI drive is in my system. I uninstalled this and ran the new hardware wizard which once again found a the same thing but this drive is IDE not SCSI. The LiteOn website only says the default Microsoft driver is what is used.

 

are your jumpers set correctly? do you have the latest firmware?
