new DX update?

    I notice a new Direct X d/l link on MGs. Did M$ release a new updated DX 9.0c? Thx.

    According to MA, its just an updated redistributable, nothing you really need.

    It calls itself "DirectX 9.0c with Updated Managed DirectX".

    Not clear what the difference is. It has three obviously new files, though:
    Aug2005_d3dx9_27_x64.cab (1,320 KB)
    Aug2005_d3dx9_27_x86.cab (1,054 KB)
    Aug2005_MDX_x86.cab (896 KB)

    Maybe it adds 64-bit support to the redist? Or improves upon it?

    You are correct. Reading the .inf files within the .cab file appears to include 64 bit dx functionality.
