I am looking for a new router to replace my FiOS router. It seems that every time I want to stream something (xbox or Panasonic bluray player) from PS3Mediaserver I have to restart the media server and let it find the devices again. There are other issues I have with it, but I figured there is something better than the stock router.

I am looking for suggestions on what to look for. Ghz/Mbit etc...

Also does anyone know if any router is compatible? My setup is wired with Coax to the router unfortunately so not sure I can get rid of my old router.

Have you had a FiOS technician diagnose your issues?

There is actually a Verizon direct forum, that is manned by upper level VZ tech's at http://www.dslreports.com/forum/vzdirect Also there is the Verizon Support Forums at http://forums.verizon.com/ that you can also inquire at. You also need to probably first and foremost before the other two, go to http://www.ps3mediaserver.org/forum/

If your having to restart the media server, which ever is doing it, doubt that it is a issue with the equipment from Verizon, but most likely if Windows, messed up Winsock or DNS. If MacOS or Linux, messed up IPTables.

I see that PS3 Media Server is Java based, so I would have to say that you need to also let the party to be that wrote the software, know that there is a issue with their program. I really doubt that it is a issue as stated before with Verizon, but the third party software.

What other network equipment are you using, besides the router that Verizon supplied? You can also file a ticket at https://code.google.com/p/ps3mediaserver/ There are some other servers out there. If you are running windows, you can use Windows Media Player vs. some other DLNA server. There are also other DLNA servers out there that you may find work better than this one.
