New firefox version issues?

I recently downloaded the update to the latest version of Firefox 3.0.1. I've noticed a couple of odd things since then there seems to be a delay on most web pages I view when scrolling down. It seems to take longer than the previous version I was just using a few days ago. More troubling however my computer has started to completely lock up occasionally when I try to close Firefox (forcing hard shut off or displaying a blue screen of death). There also is a long delay now and then when trying to switch between open Firefox clients.

I was wondering if anyone else is experiencing similar issues with the update and has any possible fixes. I'm also open to recommendations on tutorials to run to check out if the problem is elsewhere on the computer.

I'm currently running the Avira AntiVir PE to check the comp for anything obvious (70% done just 1 warning). I am however a little tired of that program as well. (any change recommendations on that welcome as well)

i to noticed a slow web page loading time with Firefox 3.0.1 but when browsing some of the post on mgs i noticed one concerning the up and coming new version of Firefox called Shiretoko 3.1 alpha although still in the testing stage i have installed it to check it out and it loads a lot faster than the 3.0 version might be worth you looking at http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=169396 this is the thread where i found the link check it out if you want

 

I had a problem at first that when i closed FF it would give me the crash screen saying "FF has crashed windows is searching for a solution"

i have done nothing to the settings in FF but it seems to have sorted itself out.
