New Graphics card - input needed

I'm not sure whether to go for this or not, it does look a good deal.

Opinions?

 

I love the x1950's. They are super fast and process extremely well. I would suggest buying it. I'm not sure how much that is in USD but i know that for what they are it isn't that expensive. I have heard that ATIs crossfire doesn't work as good as SLI does, but they're supposed to be making a new crossfire design.

 

The card prformance will in no case disappoint you and the price seems fair. BUT, everyone is discouraging hardware upgrades at the moment. DX 10 is ahead and many new series will be released. It's a state of the art VGA now but I'm afraid it will be outdated in 2 months. Why not whaiting for the freashones?

 

I won't be using DX10 for a very long time, I won't take advantage of it and won't be gaming much, just wanted to update my 6600GT.

I'm afraid the guy on the phone persuaded me when I rang to query a few things, and it just seemed such a good deal, it's finishing tomorrow too.

 

Something new always comes out. If you always play the waiting game, you find yourself buying nothing.

Other than Crysis, I haven't really heard of anything taking advantage of it yet. If you ask me, it's kinda like the PS2 and PS3 thing. Sure the PS3 has better graphics, but there aren't that many games for it yet. PS2 has mediocre graphics and costs a lot less and has tons of games. Not concerned about DX10 cause I'm not running vista until everything works decent on it.

 

Exactly, and I won't be going to Vista until end of 2007, maybe even 2008.
