New Graphics Card no WMV's

I recently bought and installed a new graphics card for my PC. Upon doing that though i came to find out that i was unable to play WMV files. There may be other files that i can not play but i primarly watch WMV and MPG. MPG work fine. I do have the most recent drivers for the card. Has anyone else ever had this problem? What can i do about it?

 

that shouldn't have anything to do with your new gpu. have you recently installed a new version of windows media player? try this and see if it works for you or not.

 

I installed that but they still dont work. A friend of mine also bought a graphics card at the same time i did (we both bought it for the same game). He is having the excat same problem. Any other ideas??

 

what graphics card do you have? i had a fx5200 with problems on movie playback due to an bug in the Nvidia drivers

 

Sapphire Radeon 9600 Atlantis 256MB. My friend with the same problem has the card one step down (Radeon 9550 256MB).

 

sounds like a driver problem if 2 dif. card have the same problem. do you both have the newest drivers? if so try to install an older version.. be sure to clean the new drivers from your system

 

Are you using the drivers from the ATI site?
