trying to figure out what's the better of the two?
apparently i read somewhere that hd's with more space create more heat or tend to have more problems?
so im torn between a 200 or 250 gig hd...any input would be appreciated thanks.
western digital by the way w/8mb buffer

Size wont make a dif in heat...its the RPMs and the seek times that add heat....the idea is that larger drives tend to have higher RPMs and better seek times then smaller drives and thus run hotter....if thare the same make and specs ( other then size ) id go for the larger one....

i'd go for the larger one also if heat is a major concern they offer hard drive coolers for that :)

    My vote is
    Dun TA TA DA, Drumroll:
DiamondMax 10 with the 16mb cache

    Seagates Ive had = Noisy
WD got three dead ones on my desk, Three repairs for friends in last two week's, one should be covered by warranty that should only take till Xmas " Hopefully not"
I collect magnets from old HDD's I got mostly WD magnets, then segate ranks second, 1 maxtor ( I dont think it's fair to suggest my magnet collection is best way to decide Brand Quality, it is what it is)
I have yet to have any problems with Maxtor's I own, Me Knocks on Wood!

I wouldnt mind having a Raptor er two, there just overpriced.
