Hi would like to upgrade to a 1TB w/d hard drive with sata 300. But my mother board( asusA7N8X-E) Deluxe might only support a 1.5 sata speed. Will it still work although slower than if I has a new motherboard that had sata300 on it? /thanks fir any who answer Rick

Sata 300 drives are backwards compatible with sata 150 motherboards. there is a jumper in the back to set it to 150 mode, there should be instructions for that included with the drive unless you buy it OEM and it comes bare, in that case you can download its manual from the manufacturer in pdf form. Yes it will run at the slower 150 transfer speeds.
