New hardware coming out for Vista?

I am looking to replace my 4-year-old HP Pavilion ze4200 notebook within a few months. Is there any news/rumors concerning new hardware that is being built to handle the supposedly increased capabilities of Vista? For instance, I had read something about hybrid drives somewhere. I wouldn't mind waiting even till the end of the year, if need be, if a significant hardware improvement were somewhere around the not-too-distant corner.

    Thanks.

    Hi

Yes, their will be alot of new hardware not specifically geared for Vista but has it in mind, for example, DirectX10 GFX cards from Nvidia and ATi ( nVidia's cards are out now as in the Series 8 cards ), Hybrid Drives will follow sometime this year, mainly geared for laptops but will be a great addition to a desktop, especially for bootup times.

In which Vista will take advantage of this NAND and HD technology to speed up data transfers and load times in utilising ReadyBoost.

I had a tech doc at home on Hybrid drives also/

Others are SATA optical drives, which are appearing now, High Def compatible LCD monitors.

Is there any word or rumor out as to when the hybrid drives will be out? And, will they initially be quite a bit more expensive?

    Thanks.

Alledged to be out back end of 2006 in notebooks, but that seems to have been pushed back, and Samsung/Seagate have mentioned sometime in first 3 months of this year for release in notebooks, but to OEM market, dunno that may follow some months later, they will initially be Vista compatible only and use the ReadyDrive tech.

Price.... yes likely to be expensive initially until folk start buying.

Thanks for the info and the link. If the cost isn't cost-prohibitive, I would like to buy a notebook with the hybrid disk drive. No notebook computer manufacturer, I suppose, has announced when their computers would have the hybrid.

Then again, I just ran across this blog: http://www.lenovoblogs.com/insidethebox/?cat=9. Scroll down to this writer's take on the first generation hybrid technology.
