New Hardware Detected/ New Folders created

Hi. During a recent malware cleanup of my machine with help from Majorgeeks, I started to get a "New Hardware has been detected" message each time I'd boot up. I never gave the machine permission to search the net for drivers and as far as I know the hardware install was never completed. Now that message has stopped appearing when I boot up. So, maybe the hardware install did complete, but I have no idea what hardware it was. Is there a way to find out?

I've also noticed in my My Documents folder two new folders that I did not create. One is labeled "readmes" and contains two files each named "readme_en-US." One is a .txt file, the other a "Chrome HTML Document." I had used Glary Utilities at one point recently and it suggested that I delete two chrome extensions or plugins, which I did. So I wonder if this folder and files has to do with those deletions. I presume it's safe to remove these, but it's a bit of a mystery how they were put in a folder in my My Documents folder.

The other folder is labeled "redist." It contains two files, each named "vcredist_x64". They both have the description "Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistrib..." which gets cut off, with "Microsoft Corporation" below that. I have no idea how these were placed in a file in my My Documents folder. I don't know what they are or if it is safe to delete them.

Any suggestions?
