New hardware wizard

The found new hardware wizard (Dell Computer, xp prof software) keeps coming back when I turn on my computer even though the printer has been installed. How do I stop it. I had to install a driver to get the printer to work.The don't show this again box doesn't work.

The printer is Samsung 4500C multijet, port and I installed a driver from the Samsung website for the 4500 series.

Maybe it's me but I'm having trouble finding anything but a ML-4500 laser printer on Samsung's site. Your printer is the MJ-4500C multi-function inkjet, right?

Try this driver from driverguide.com:

When it asks you to login, use driver as login name and all for password.

Download it, then go to Control Panel > Printers, delete the 4500c and run the .exe file you downloaded to install it. See if that helps

Okay, I did all of that. Now I can't install the driver. I get a info box saying present driver to install is not available in windows nt. Now what do I do? I am not a computer whiz, so please keep it simple as possible. I don't have a printer at all now.

 

We really need the answer to that question.

So if the new driver you downloaded from driverguide doesn't work, let's backtrack. Delete your printer from Control Panel > Printers (if it's there) and reinstall the driver you had before, so at least you'll have a printer to use.

 

The new driver is installed the printer works. The found new hardware wizard is still there.
