New hdd,laptop instal-Help please??

    Hi all,
    Ive done the search thing and stopped at page 30 something..

    Ive bought a new 80G hdd for my laptop and have no idea of how to set up the new hdd so I can load xp again.

    I know this is so basic,its embarrasing to ask.But I have no idea ...I know Ive got to format the new drive first..

    Help??

    Its a Compaq NX9010 and the new hdd is a Hitachi model hts541080g9at00.

    You could install the new hard drive and boot from your XP installation cd.
