    Good Morning!

Not really sure where to ask this question so I'm starting here.

I'm about to buy a new laptop/desktop replacement and would like to give my specs for the laptop and see what folks think about the build, the company etc.

    Lenovo T61p

    T9300 Core 2 Duo processor
    OS XP Pro
    Display 15.4 WSXGA TFT
Graphics NVIDIA Quadro FX 570m (256mb Open GL)
    3GB RAM
    HDD 100gb 7200rpm SATA
    Bat 6 cell Li-ion
    Cost: 1400.00

I was interested in a Dell but have to go with Lenovo because they still offer XP in most of their models. This is going to end mid-May however.

Thanks in advance for any advice you can give!

I was right with you till I got down to the price. WOW!..... double what I'd expect to pay for a quality laptop.

I'd just as soon buy a Toshiba or Acer with a 17" screen running Vista, and tweak and tune Vista to look like and run like XP. I do it all the time.

It would be more compatible with currently available software and hardware.
XP is on it's way out. No longer available after June 2008.

I just set up a brand new Acer laptop for a lady who got a real good deal on it at her local 'Staples' store, for Under $700.
When I got done setting it up for her, she couldn't even tell that it wasn't running XP. The biggest change was in Windows Mail....which can be made to look and act a lot like Outlook Express.....but not 100%. She's OK with the slight differences.

$1400 for a laptop? Not in my world!:(

    Good Luck,
    The Shadow :cool
