New laptop help

Need a new laptop buget is 3,000 so i have a few options

I was looking a building a new alienware unit but can't decide what would be better

One AMD x2 dual core with 2 gigs of ram or

P4 3.2 with 3 gigs of ram and pci express motherboard

both would have the 6800 pro graphics card and all other hard ware would be the same

any suggestions about theses two setups or anyothers in that price rage would help

 

dell bought alienware (beware of customer service).

3k? they're startin' at $500. I didn't know you could find one costing that much anymore...

 

just ordered the amd 2,984 shipped to my door but it's going to be blazing fast amd dual core x2 2 gigs of ram two dvd r/rw drives 6800 go graphics cards

i's going to be a desktop replacement and as longs as everything is fine out of the box i can usually fix most problems
