New Laptop - Need Advice

I just bought a new laptop and i need to know what progams i should get to keep myself protected. i bought AVG Pro and Downloaded Zone Alarm, but for spyware and such what should i get? Thanks

 

I use Spyware Blaster & Spybot Search and Destroy. I have had better results with these free tools than I have had with products that charge for there use.

 

A layered defense would include:

- HijackThis & Ad-Aware or Spybot

- SpywareBlaster and SpywareGuard

- Move your TIP and Cookies folders onto a Ramdisk drive

- Download an 'ondemand AV scanner' so that you don't just depend on your AV's resident scanner.

- Make sure that you go to a commercial online scanner at least once a month. I like Kaspersky personally.

- Finally make sure you surf behing a 'router'.

That should keep the 'Vampires' away for a while......
