    Hello people,

Ive just bought a laptop off a friend. I am trying to get it connected to the internet. At the moment I have an ADSL router that I purchased through my local telephone company. I want to use the router with my laptop but can't find a cable to fit. It has a Dell Fast Ethernet Card 10/100 Base TX in it. I bought a network cable thinking there would be a seperate port but the laptop doesnt have one. It has a port with the network symbol on round the back, but this looks like a kind of slim, wide usb port. I can find no cable for the card directly to a router. Do I need to get an ethernet adaptor? Or can I just buy a new ethernet card that has a straightforward telephone cable socket on it?

    Thanks in advance -

    Confused

Looks like you are missing the cable in this pic Dell 3Com Fast Ethernet 10/100 BASE-TX PCMCIA card

Does your friend still have any of the supplied parts for the laptop still ( could be hidden away in draw or something )?

What you need is the Dongle Cable, had a quick search and didnt locate andy, so you will need to search for one in your locality.
