New LCD Screen Issue

I've recently installed a new replacement LCD screen in a Dell Insprion N4010 laptop. Once I had it installed I powered it up and it worked just fine however, every time after the first start up it throws a Display Error beep code (8 beeps). The screen is getting power it'll show different shades of gray with a number of random lines LED back light is working.

I've also re-hooked the old/broken screen and it does load without any error codes.

I've replaced a few other LCD screens and have had no problems. This is the first time this has happened.

Does anyone know why this has happened or has some work-around for it?

 

Just a stab in the dark but is the replacement screen DOA?

 

Being DOA has crossed my mind, but why would it work on the first boot and non of the following?

I have requested and received the RMA forms from the company. Was just wondering if anyone knew a little trick that I don't.

 

I think that is probably best starting place. I wouldn't tell them it worked first time. On a side note what did the first screen die of? I am wondering if there isnt some sort of underlying wiring issue that blew the first screen and has now blown the second.

PS I wouldn't tell the manufacturer that it worked first time. They may try and blame you and refuse the replacement. Companies can be a pain like that.

 

The first screen... Yeah not a short. I think she body slammed it and hit it with a closed fist. There's quite a few cracks in it.
