new mobo and cpu same problem...

hey all, ok so a few weeks back i got hit by a surge. changed out the mobo and was having problems repairing windows. kept locking up - then blue screen.

so i bought a new cpu. installed tonight. same problem. turn on the puter and all i get is the windows screen that says

"setup is being restarted"

and then the screen goes black with an arrow...

nothing more.

please help im going on 2 weeks on repairs and many many hours of restarts, research and reflux...

 

Have you cleared cmos? If not, unplug power supply, remove mb battery for a few min. hold down on-off button for a few seconds, try again, possibly a ram issue, try with just one stick installed, then switch that one with another. ed

So you can get into bios ok? If so i would look into trying another harddrive, or going to the hd brand website and downloading their tools to check the hd, you will have to burn it to a cd, then boot from the cd. ed
