I recently swapped out my Asus A8V with an A8N motherboard and a new 6600GT card. I ghosted my boot drive (a partitioned C drive) onto my D so that I could just reinstall windows if needed. Problem is, when I turn my PC on, I get nothing for a display. No post, no boot, nothing!

    This is what I have:

    Asus A8N SLI mobo
    1gb Mushkin memory (2x512)
    Athalon 64 3000+ Cpu
    Antec 350W PSU
    evga 6600GT gpu
    m-audio sound card
    d-link wireless pci card
maxtor diamondmax ide 250 gb hard drive
    plextore 712sa sata dvd burner

So, all this stuff minus the mobo and video card worked on my other system (an Asus A8V and radeon 9600pro). What I see is that i get power, my mouse lights up, my cpu fan spins, my gpu fan spins, my computer makes noise EXCEPT for the PC Speaker and all the general LEDs like HDD, Power, PC Speaker, ETC. Nothing there, no bleeps or bloops from the PC speaker...no display on my monitor...no lights lighting up my keyboard. I know i connected my LED jumpers right...it'd be tough to mess up. I reset my CMOS battery. I don't know what to do at this point. Any suggestions???

    Thanks in advance.

I donno that 350Watt PSU sounds a bit weak to me....... So thare is no responce from the mobo or any thing attached to it ??

I agree with ACE256 on this one. You have ALOT going on inside your case and your present PSU may just not be able to handle it. I am not too familiar with the 6600GT vid card, but is it connected directly to the PSU via Molex plug? Either way, I'd be inclined to say that you are underpowered.

No, there is plenty of response. The fans come on, the GPU fans spins, the drive light up, etc.

The Mobo manual says 350w should power a 6600GT AND an AMD 3400+. I only have a 3000+.

Also, the only thing I've added to this that would require more power is the 6600GT. I had a Radeon 9600Pro in before (on a diff Mobo, however).

Everything seems to be getting power. The only things that arent responding are my Mobo LEDs (pc speaker, hdd light, power light) my keyboard LEDs, and then there's the fact that it powers up but doesn't post. Machine turns on, fans spin, but no display or post. Not even a message.

I forgot to mention, I'm using a 20-pin ATX psu and the new Mobo has a 24pin EATX connector...is this an issue?

Thanks. I reseated my CPU and it worked. I deduced that if I strip it down to just memory and cpu and nothing happens, then strip it to just cpu and no missing memory beeps occur, then its not even detecting the cpu, so I reseated it and it worked.

So your running a 20Pin PSU to a 24Pin mobo ?? Its prolly not good on your mobo in the long run.....read... thow it will work till you can get a 24Pin PSU but id get one ASAP.....
