I am going to save for a monitor, and I dont care about price, whatsoever. Well....Id like to not go over $1,000 but, if it will last me forever, and I will NOT have any dissapointments then so be it.

What im looking for is a new monitor. One that has a high refresh rate, one that looks absolutely kill in games and DVDs. So, Quality, is a very important issue with me. I just dont know what I should go, CRT, LCD, or what. My current video card is a Ge-Force 7800 GT 256MB HDTV/Out, so I will not be upgrading it any time soon.

My current monitor is a Viewsonic 19" E90 CRT, with darkness issues...I cant seem to get it to NOT be dark when watching movies, or playing games. Ive tweaked with the video card, updated lastest drivers, including monitor drivers, ive messed with the monitor settings, as well as ingame settings, and nothing seems to work, so I am going to buy a new monitor, and im going to splurge and go all out on it.

Any ideas as to what some KILL monitors are?

I was about to post a similar question, so will append my ? to yours.

I currently have a NEC 18.25" LCD flat-screen monitor. Would like to upgrade to a 23 or 26" flat-screen TV monitor, but am unsure if it will be compatible with my rig. Are there any special hookups I will need?

If easier to reply, please contact me at gensuknives@hotmail.com.

    Thanks for input.

I will check them out, do they have a web site? I want to go LCD but my only drawback on them, is their Fixed Resolution...now if I can find like, a 21 or 22" LCD with a Fixed Resolution of 1280x1020, then That would be nice.

Genuknives - In responce to yours, it depends on what kind of video card you have. My Video card can support HDTV as well as Svideo and up to 10 monitors. So it depends on the connections you have on your video card. Make sure you find out what kind of connection is required for the monitor you want to get, and if your video Card either

    A) Had those connection
    B) Had adapters available for the type of connection you need.

For the time being with your old monitor have you adjusted all three of the colours to MAX,I had the same prob a year or two ago as all my colours were at 50%,after turning them all up to 95% I cant even look at the thing without turning the contrast and brightness down :)

Yes they are all at max, infact I tried that on Saturday and experimented with turning the colors down, lol but that didnt do anything. I will check again when I get home.
