Probably an old question, but I can't find the answer. Win XP home from a 160 gig HP machine. I replaced the old 1.3 system with a P4-duo-core 3.0, 2 gig RAM. New power supply. Machine just loops in re-start. HP didn't come with system disks, I'm sure. Thoughts?

    thanks

You need to reinstall. Repair at the very least. If you dont have media, you will need to purchase an XP CD. Recovery media wont let you install over retail hardware such as that anyway.

OK, I found the recovery disk. Now I get a blue screen error.

It talks about disbale cache or shadow BIOS?
This is a new system I thought I could build and just drop my Windows OS for my HP machine?
