ya.... the Gigabyte mb ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16813128321 ) i had i think is the reason for my restarting problems.....

So what can you recommend? when i built this system i was think about going sli but now i'm not too sure if that would ever be worth it with this build.... So ya.... recommendations would be much appreciated!

    What is the problem? Restarts?

When does it restart? Randomly? What are the temps like?

ya i was looking at that one.... but like i was saying i dont even know if going sli is practical anymore.... i'm not 100% sure if the performance of the sli would just bottleneck because of my cpu.... plus with vista out and dx10, going sli with a dx9 card just seems not worth it..... but i'm not sure.... if you think its still worth it let me know.... figured i could save some money getting a non sli board if i'm not going sli....

yes biostar makes a good board. Ive used 2 in the last year and they perform as good as any other I've used.

will i have to reinstall windows when i change motherboards?

try booting in safe mode first and removing the drivers then reboot and let it find new drivers off the disk and you should be fine. But as with all issues that pertain to windows back up important files FIRST . Personal recomendation? I would do a clean install if possible.

Alright thanks, may need a little help with that when i order the motherboard, but i just had my wisdom teeth out yesterday, move into my appartment tomorrow, start school wednesday so i was just wondering because i'm going to have to do some house keeping on my HD's before i'll be able to do a fresh install and that may take a little while since i'm going to be so busy the next week or so..... but thanks for tip if I need help later i'll let you know!

    thank you
