New mouse being stupid!

hey all.

i just bought a new mouse Today! and it is acting very strangly.
while do anything at all it will just jump to the edges of the screen for no apparent reason.

I was told i need to downlaod the latest software for the mouse so i did and it's still doing it !!!

if anyone could help me it would be very preciated. thanks

Try a different mousemat, is it a laser mouse?

If it is a laser mouse, make sure there is no water on the surface that you are trying to use it on.

 

well it's a logitech mouse, yes it's laser. and i don't accually have a mouse mat i was told they were un necessary could that be it?

 

You need a mousemat, whoever said that should be dipped in lactic acid.

 

alright i think i'll pick one up very soon. is there a special kind or?

Dending on the surface, you might not always need a mouse pad. My dad doesn't use one and its smoother than most mouses.

Also make sure that you dont use it without a mouse pad on glass surfaces because it won't work as well.

 

this smells more of a driver or app issue than anything else ... sometimes other drivers or programs can do that to the mouse .. I know when using enditall sometimes my mouse jumps or gets stuck .. but then unsticks itself in a moment or two .. only way I've found is either restarting or reinstalling the drivers or deleting or not using the problem app or driver

I might note that that isn't a laser mouse ... it's an LED mouse

and i started using a black piece of paper as a mouse pad until i get out to get one and it was working great but then all of a sudden the mouse completly froze up and i formatted to see if that would help at all and it didn't so i'm gonna take this mouse back and maybe invest in a more expensive one.
