  1. I am asking is there anything specific I need to know when going to get a new mouse from local store? I just make sure it has the same hook up to the back or what? And also isn't there more then one kind of mouse cords that can go into the back of my computer? Like mine currently ends with a small round circle and some prongs inside. And I thought there was others that had like a usb kind of an end peice to plug in.. or something.. also maybe I could get wireless I don't know.. But anything I know to need to know when going? And also what am I looking to get when I install it? A pop up of new hardware? Double click that and install? Or just plug it in and lets click click click! My computer Is Dell Windows XP

  2. Oh yeah another thing Ive been reading on some mouses at walmart website.. And they got wireless, cord, and lazer? I know lazer is good. And I rather have lazer then a mouse that needs to keep getting cleaned out.. Plus its older. But I was wanting to know is there lazer mouses that is with a cord? I dont want to have a mouse battery go out while doing something.. So thoughts and suggestions.. and what you got and why you like it..

    Hello SunFlower.

From your description of your own mouse, it sounds like you have a PS/2 Adapter mouse, which is typical. They do have as you mentioned, USB mouses now. But you can literally get whatever type you like, and majority of the time not have issues. If I would be you from what your suggesting. I would get a Wired Optical "Laser" Mouse. (A Mouse that doesn't use a mouseball.) That would probably be your best bet. It does not really matter if its USB or your current connector, as most computers can handle both types of connectors. But if you really wanted to be on the safe side. You could probably get one that has the same as your current adapter.

    Hope this helps.

Most of the mice you find will be USB. Check the box to be sure it has a green plastic USB to PS/2 adapter included so you can plug it into your current mouse port.

  5. That green picture looks like thats either my mouse or the keyboard there next to one another on the back. But is that what I have to get or no to the usb mouse ones? I want a lazer but can I get one with a cord?

You can get either. But if you get one with USB, as suggested. Get one that has that adapter with it. And some Laser ones do come with cords, so that way you're not worried about batteries
