New Msi M520 will run on ac but not battery

I just bought a new msi notebook on thursday and it wont show that its charging. Nor does it charge the battery. It says in the manual that it blinks orange when there is a problem and that it is green when its charging. Mine blinks orange. I have no clue what im doing. So if any of you smart computer guys can help i would really appreciate it. Thanks!

 

ill start off with the obvious step of checking the contacts on the battery and the battery housing to make sure they arent damaged in any way or obstructed.

second, i would check to see if there are any BIOS updates that solve your problem. i have a toshiba that, when the battery was completely discharged, would not charge at all...a BIOS update solved the problem.
