G’day to you gentlemen, I have a client of mine who has issues with a neighbours son (aspiring hacker I’m sure) who takes time out of his day to crack every single security device (firewall etc.) on this guy’s wireless network. My IT company has been trying to steer well clear of wireless networks (more trouble than their worth in my opinion) so I came to the only place I thought would be able to help. Any ideas guys?

If you setup WPA encryption plus MAC filtering, it would be beyond most peoples ability to get in the system. Also you can hide the SSID. He will know there is a network there but won't know the name to hack in to.

DarkDragon, actually WiFi is no less of a hassle to set up then a normal Wired network. Only thing to remember, is that it is a radio transmission device, and can suffer from the same problems that happens with Cordless Telephones, or any other type of radio device.

The person setting up the device needs to remember that in order to keep people off of their network just needs to enable security, and use WPA if available. Along with having a firewall software on their computer, that helps to.
