lol dude the news for the DS has been out for like 4 months. Sony is also coming out with a Playstation Handheld (PSP-Playstation Portable) You can check out more information here: www.gamespot.com

 

Thankfully, Sony decided to go a different path with their portable. Its more of a multimedia machine than anything Nintendo will make, so the DS is the winner for pure gaming enjoyment. This means I can justify the purchase of both. ^_^ And I swear...if Microsoft even hints that their making a portable..... ~_~

yeah i agree, im not sure why there will be two screens in the DS? i mean, c'mon. i know its revolutionary but it seems like a pretty lame attempt. also, the psp is going to have cool little disks for games.

 

I cant wait for the PSP. Ive heard great things, and the opening line up looks great!

wut are you talking about microsoft for?? if they release a handheld, i think it could be the best one! i for one LOVE the xbox compared to a PS2. The gamecube? we can leave that POS out of this discussion.

I think the dual screen will be cool. Id think, one might show an OS type thing, and the other would show your games, or programs. that way, you could chat, and play at the same time, if its a communication device that is.

 

Nah, microsoft wouldn't make a good handheld. I have an xbox myself and I love it but I don't think the handheld idea would be any good in the hands of microsoft corporation. As for the dual screen, I think some of what you said is going to be done. Like the menus and text and stuff on the bottom screen or the top and then the graphics and actually gameplay on the other one. I'm not sure there will be programs and an OS type thingy on there since its nintendo were talking about and they don't have knowledge behind that.

 

I've heard that the main screen for some games would be in first person view, with the better graphics and such. The second screen, is susposed to be along the lines of pokemon. A overhead view of the game. Kinda like a map for you. That way you get the coolness of firstperson, and the help of maps, and stuff. It sounds really cool. I want to find a game list for it, to see what is going to open.

Right now im leaning towards the PSP. With the projected PS3 prices in the 500 - 700 dollar range, i think i will get a psp, and wait a year or two before jumping in the PS3.

I believe M$ could make a great handheld. They deffinitly have the tech to make something that could blow away the PSP, but the problem is cost. The psp is going to be loaded with stuff, and its going to put a hole in our walets. Right now you wont get much better, with out spending some more cash, and who wants to do that? LOL I think it would be a smart move for M$ to stick with the councels.

that is all true cooked, except that i think microsoft could make a good handheld. look at their first try at a console. the xbox is awesome. but nintendo with an OS?? your probably right.
