New PC Advice Please

I currently have a desktop running XP and laptop running Vista. I am considering buying a new desktop to replace my current desktop/XP system. But, really prefer the XP operating system over Vista. Does anyone know if there will soon be a more "user-friendly" Vista released and installed on new PC's? Also, I have heard that it will not be long before XP will not be supported anymore -- if that is correct, does anyone know when that will occur?

Thanks, it looks like XP will be around for a good while. Eliminates one of the factors that was making me consider replacing my current desktop. Maybe I can hold on until they have something better than Vista on PC's.
