The person I'm building it for wants a 5.1 speaker system, but is happy with the mobos on-board audio.

Here's the specs. I left off all of the other stuff...

    Mobo: Abit K8N Ultra SK939 NF4 chipset Dual DDR400 PCI-E SATA ATX

    CPU:AMD Athlon (Venice) Athlon 64 3500+ 939pin 512kb L2 Cache 90nm Retail

    GPU: Connect 3D X800GTO 256MB GDDR3 PCI-E DVI VIVO

    RAM: Kingston 1GB 400MHz DDR PC3200 DIMM 3-3-3

Speakers: Creative Labs SBS560 5.1 Speaker System

HDDs: 2 x Western Digital Caviar WD400BD Hard Disk Drive (already purchased because they were particularly cheap. In fact, both together were significantly cheaper than the cheapest I've seen one 40GB SATA HDD on itself)

Is there anything unwise, incompatible, stupid, not recommended, silly, pathetic, random, dodgy, crap, etc... Any advice on things to change, but keeping in mind that the price of anything cannot be put up by much at all.

However, if you notice that's it's significanty cheaper to buy a nearly-as-good or just-as-good alternative to anything, then please tell.

    Thanks for any advise...

Looks good, all you need is a Cd-rom drive.
