    Hello,
Ive just recieved my pc, its windows 7. Started it up and seemed to run ok, installed set point 4.72 for vista just for the mouse mx510, on the logitech forums they all said that it was ok for windows 7. About 20mins after everything froze up, I rebooted & now it freezes on the start up logo screen. The repair option I couldnt see if it done anything as it froze on that too. Got it started, uninstalled set point restarted as promted, froze on restart, couldnt get past start up screen so I started in safe mode set point is still there, tried to uninstall & its saying you cant uninstall & got an error code, looked it up and a fix was system restore, tried that & froze on the restart for that too.. Overall the pc was only on for about an hour & a half from when I got it, so Im unsure if its a faulty PC or something to do with set point. I have the recovery disc, would that be an option? I dont want to ring the help line incase they blame the set point drivers.
Thanks for any help in advance

Honestly we are too early here to be sure. I suspect you might have bad hardware, ram or even heat which are common issues to crashes. My suggestion would be to recover the PC to new and just use it to surf the web and do your basic things without adding or removing anything.

This way you know where you stand and you will not have to explain to the company you bought it from about what you installed. It will speed up the return of the computer if you have not messed with it. By the way, if the problems continue when you call them skip the whole story. you plugged it in and it freezes up. End of story :)

Thanks very much for your help, we took it back to factory settings, updated windows, restarted & got the freeze up again. Phoned them & told them the "basics" & they are going to replace it. With how quick it happened yesterday & with installing set point it really threw us what was the best & safest option. So again, thanks for your advice.

My pleasure. You did the right thing, assumed it was SetPoint but silly computers; things are not what they seem. Glad you got it resolved. I would rather have problems now then in a month after you are all settled in.
