    Hello all.

So I've bought a prebuilt computer that's arrived today, and I'm having a problem. Their support is closed until Tuesday and I've had such great help here I'm the past I thought I'd try here.

As the topic suggests, this new computer has the graphics card physically inside, however when I try to install the drivers provided on a cd, I'm told the hardware isn't found.

Device manage shows intels integrated graphics as the only thing showing in the display section. And when I try to start the computer with the dvi cable in the graphics card the screen doesn't come on. However when it's in the motherboard it does.

I'm not too savvy when it comes to bios, googling around I see some people mention making sure it's setup right in the bios but I can't seem to find any mention of display or gpu in there.

It's An Asus motherboard and the bios is a UEFI bios utility with an easy mode and an advanced.

There is a small white light which flashes on the graphics card when the computer is turned on.

If anyone has any idea what I might be able to do to sort this I'd really appreciate it!

On a brand new computer, you should not have to install any drivers. It should have been done for you - at least enough to be able to see what you are doing.

And when you insert a graphics card, the integrated "should" automatically be disabled. Meaning you should not need to go into the BIOS.

What other ports are there on the graphics card? Did you try them.

At this point, except to make sure all cables are connected inside, I recommend you wait until their tech support is open. You do not want to do anything that would void your warranty. And the fact their tech support is closed today too suggests to me they would be happy to void your warranty so they can rid themselves of any responsibility. :(

I would agree with Digerati, if under warranty. If the graphics card is not recognised, it sounds like it is either improperly seated/connected, or,defunct.
Otherwise- If you do not have warranty --You can check the graphics card, with the POWER OFF, to check that it is properly seated- tey usually have a clip near the back of the card to hold them in the slot -It sometimes has an extra cable to work the fan on the graphics card- worth checking.

Rare, but sometimes the graphics card does not like your video cable. Be sure you have the correct cable and a monitor that has the correct specs.
Since it is new I would not try too much, they will try to blame you.
