    Alright,
Before I was having problems with the system files and now I'm having problems with the Dr.Watson pop ups. But my problem is that the system freezes when this pop up comes up. The only thing that I can access is Alt+Ctrl+del, anything else does not let me click on it.

Any ideas? Is there any type of boot disk I an Download that can debug this POS laptop? I'm about to go and get an iMac....:cry:cry

You will need to disable Dr. Watson:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/188296

    After you use Ctrl+Alt+Del
    Select Task Manager
In Windows Task Manager select "File"
    Select "New Task" Run
    type in regedit

    Then follow the instructions here:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/188296

Warning: You may have to rebuild your profile after this. As I have in the past.

(If you can't get to Task Manager by using Ctrl+Alt+Del, trying pressing and holding down the Ctrl+Shift+Esc keys at the same time. As that should bring up Task Manager as well.)

I disabled the watson, then another windows error message came up. I clicked on details of that error message and this is what it says

    error sig:
    AppName: explorer.exe AppVer:6.0.2900.2180 ModName:comctl32.dll
    ModVer: 6.0.2900.2180 Offset: 0006eaee

    Anyone know WTF this is?

Not sure what that message is. But it sounds like you may have to rebuild that profile. Are there any other profiles/users that you can log into? Just to see if you're getting the same error? :-o

nope just this one. I dont think its a problem, just that it pops up. Everything is still working fine... I'm not sure what it is.. maybe I blocked something when I was setting up the Comodo firewall..

I think its something with the firewall.. I think I remeber seeing the explorer.exe file type..

Can I delete that explorer file or whatever it is?

I don't think it would be advisable to delete any explorer.exe file.

    explorer.exe refers to windows explorer.

If you want to see want explorer.exe does, pull up Task Manager and end the explorer.exe process. (Make sure you don't have any programs running on your desktop.)

Everything should disappear. To get it to come back. Go to File (at the top of Task Manager) and select New Task (run) and type in:
    explorer
    Click OK

That .dll file could be the culprit though. You could try finding it and move it somewhere else and see if you're having any problems with anything.

Can you open up Internet Explorer?

I have not tried internet explorer. I use Firefox. I'll try it when I get home from work.
