I have a dell inspiron 5000 laptop. I went to Frys Electronics to buy 256mbs of ram they gave me 256mb pc133 133mhz 8so-dimm. They told me my computer could handle 256mb in each slot (I have 2 slots) I tried this stick of ram in both slots with and without 1 stick of 64mb of ram every way possible. But my comp will not turn on with it. Can somebody help please as always thanks in advance.......Bobby

Take it back, it must not be compatable with your laptop. A few of the memory companies online can find the right memory for you. ed

    Try www.crucial.com
It has an on-line RAM finder that will check your machine and advise what RAM is recommended for your PC.
They will also sell you that RAM, if you want, but the RAM finder link can be run on its own. No need, or obligation, to buy from them.

As I am in Australia, I cannot recommend a USA site to buy RAM from.
