New RealArcade

    I can't play a bunch of my games that I have purchased from RealArcade. I have been going back and forth with them for two days. I try to redownload my games from my account and it says to download the demo. I download the demo and it says that they are having technical difficulty. The help says it is a problem with Firefox. That it needs a plugin. I download the plugin and they say to run it but it won't give me that option. I have deleted RealArcade and reinstalled it. I have deleted the games and tried to reinstall them. When I download a demo it says 0 minutes to play.I'm running XP and Firefox on my E-Machines pentium 4. The crazy way they want you to redownload RealArcade is to download a game you don't have. But again at the end it says 0 minutes to play and it won't open. I have made sure all my security accepts RealArcade.

    Do the games or demos run in Internet Explorer? What's the name of the plug-in they want you to install?

    Have you tried updating your flash and java plugins? (Click the links for downloads)

    Yes I have updated everything. And since gotten rid of Firefox. Running Explorer 7. I can download games from other sites. Now when try to redownload my games it says unable to reach server, when I click retry it says we are experiancing tecnical difficulty. It's going on 2 months that I havn't been able to play about ten games.

    Well I tried it and even restarted it and now I just get, We are experiencing tecnical difficulties.

    Hi

    Install Firefox again and download this plugin from Real here, to install click in Firefox File > Open File and browse to the location you downloaded the xpi file too and click open.

    Also seems you are not the only one with this issue, so have you also contacted real Support and asked what their solution is to this?

    I already tried that when I had Fire Fox. And yes I have tried all of thier suggestions.

    Well I reinstalled Firefox and the plug-in. The plug-in is listed in Firefoxes plug-in list so it has to be Real. Another reason I think it's them is because I downloaded 8 demos from Gamehouse that I have already paid for just so I could play them. Had no problems. Only that they last an hour. In fact I sent them an e-mail asking if I could possibly redown load from them. Probably not but I'm desperate. It's been since 8/27/09 when this all first started.

    after being completely happy with my BigFish Games Club account, i decided to pay Real for something BigFish didn't have.

    BIG mistake! i ran into the same problems you're having, tried all the same fixes (except i have ie8) and still nothing. i REFUSE to be a slave to ie & will use firefox, or else.

    the Real plugin isn't compatible (according to my addon list) so i cancelled my subscription & requested a refund (just did it so no response, yet).

    get a Game Club membership with BigFish ($6.99 an month and same for any additional purchases) & just do without the limited number of games Real/Gamehouse (which is now owned by Real, btw) has which BigFish doesn't. You will not believe the quality of their customer support. they are the friendliest, nicest people (YES, actual people) you'll ever deal with.

    i had a simple complaint about a strategy guide and they ended up sending me coupons for 2 free games (my choice), then, when i sent them a well-deserved thank you email, they sent me another coupon.

    the only other companies i get that kind of service from are AT&T, my bank, Apple/iPhone & Mastertronic (UK company that distributes games whose licenses have expired or gone public...got the first 3 Broken Sword games for $15.00; spent $120.00 for the originals).

    go with BigFish; you'll be over the moon.

    update!

    i decided to go to Real's online chat & bottom line is IE or nothing. their plugin isn't compatible with Firefox.

    cancelled my subscription & she's refunding me my $$$ made sure & told her i didn't want it if i couldn't use Firefox AND to pass along the info that Real needs to either fix their plugin or go back to their stand-alone game manager. will take 7-10 days for my refund (i suppose she has to get approval, but only took seconds for them to "receive" my $$$).

    so, unless you want to use IE8 (that didn't work either, but i didn't really care), sign into your account (not GamePass), go to their help & choose the online chat to cancel & get your refund. she was pretty nice, after trying to escape once ("delete your cookies...etc.").

    There are an incredible amount of Free to Play (f2p) games out there now and in some cases the quality is quite amazing. More and more commercial p2p games are switching over to f2p without any significant limitations on those that don't pay.

    I used to p2p/mo but got frustrated with unfinished and or buggy products that were costing $20/mo.

    Did they give you a refund for all the games you purchased too? Or just for the subscription? I have 10 games with them, but some of them were free from trying to cancell Gamepass and they would give me another month free plus a free game. They actually did that about five times. I actualy went back to IE and it still didn't work. Also tried the online help chat. She had me do all kinds of things that of course didn't work.

    they did cancel & refund me although i haven't received it yet (takes 7-10 days).

    one other note; while i was on Kaspersky's forums about a couple other things, found out about a Firefox addon called User Agent Switcher that may let you stay with RealArcade, but i didn't find it worked so well when i used the IE8 setting & tried to get updates from Microsoft. it may work for RealArcade, but i didn't try it since i've already canceled and will stick with BigFish games until they fix things so Firefox works.
