Interesting, making some pretty bold claims... Lindows tried the same, but when its all over, really didnt make a difference as far as making a dent in percentage of Linux users, but... I wonder if , and who, will.. It really only seems a matter of time.. First you got the anti-ms, hardcore geeks and now I feel most who consider themselves a geek have used it.. I wonder how long before it can cross into a percentage of the mainstream and still be the free Linux that many of us have come to expect..

I checked out that link, and kept going some. It seems like that's a pretty cool idea. That guy has done alot with the Debian people.

I'm so new at computers that I don't really know, but don't you think its inevitable that Linux will take a much bigger piece of the desktop market?

There's admin people who want it on their servers, there's the "tinkerers" who can't keep their hands off things and want to be free to "get in there and get their hands dirty" with their OS, but for people who just want to surf, do e-mail....

I still think, a couple more years, its unavoidable, its like a destiny thing....

    Like good versus evil,

Like community spirity versus money grabbin corporate monsters.

Do not underestimate the power of MS. They are not a nice company and are no doubt watching this closely.
MS plan of support/cripple/let die works very well.
While MS holds sway in the office it can do what it wants elsewhere. Small changes in MS Office could easily make saving files on a Linux server difficult if not impossible.
"MS supports Linux Servers with DirectWrite!"
"DirectWrite incompatible with newer Linux servers"
"MS server software takes lead in server market"
