I have about 8 items on the Right click context menu which shows up in Explorer and on the Desktop. This is the NEW option.

I am fairly sure that on an older XP machine I was able to get rid of them by some fairly simple deletions in the Registry which I back up first. I've tried a search in the HKEY\Classes\Root folder and tried to look specifically look in the Shellex and the Shell sub folders.

I can't seem to really identify them. Does someone know exactly which area I can find these files?

    Thanks.

This will edit the right click menu for files that are right clicked
    HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\*\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers
    and for folders HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Folder\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers

That's so strange. Those are the same instructions that someone else gave me before. I was VERY careful and did a thorough search and did not see anything that even looked like the items I wanted to remove.

I finally just gave up and decided to stop beating a dead horse and use TweakUI to get rid of them.

I have no idea what the underlying problem was but I could not find those line items in HKEY\ROOT.

    Thanks for responding. Appreciate it.

Not sure what you mean. I know how to get to the Registry. That's where I was attempting to make the changes.

I just go Start/Run and type in "regedit". Is this what you are referring to?
