This is the first sata install for me and it went fairly well to a point. I installed winXP pro and everything was fine. I noticed that winxp made the hard drive F: instead of C: which I thought was weird. I have an A drive with some data cards slots. I also have a DVD. Winxp named a removable drive C: and the DVD D and I guess the card slots E: Anyway I never heard of a primary drive as anything but C so I installed Acronis Disk Director and changed my primary to C. Well after it did everything it rebooted and changed the information off line then rebooted. Only it won't reboot now. I will stop at the windows XP loading screen and go into a hard freeze. Pushing the reset will reboot back into the hard freeze. Won't boot into safe mode either. If I completely start over, is my primary drive supposed to be F: and not C:? Thanks

I just read another thread about a guy asking why his new sata drive was C: but listed as a removable drive..I think thats what mine was. Is it possible my sata drive was actually C: and I changed my primary drive to another drive letter and thats why it won't boot? Why in the hell would my primary drive be removable? Is this a sata thing? Unless someone has a better clue than I obviously do, I might as well plan on reinstall and reformat.
