Hey guys and gals! How is everyone on this lovely friday? Thought I'd pop in and ask a quick question hopefully someone will be kind enough to respond.

I just installed a new seagate sata hdd to my dell (ugh) which didn't support it so it is going through a promise sata controller card. I cloned the old c: drive onto the new sata C: drive with success (easier than I thought actually) but I want to add my other seagate ata hdd back in ( d: drive on ide).

So I am not sure whether or not to set the ata to slave or master on the jumpers and ide cable  because even though it will be alone on the cable the sata drive is the boot drive (and i didnt' see a slave/master setting on the sata drive anyway).

    thanks for your help!

I would probably try setting the jumper to slave and check if its recognized, if not, maybe set the jumper to cable select. But put it on the end of the cable.

I have a SATA drive and an IDE drive (set to master) both hooked up and was anticipating having to switch the IDE drive to slave, but when I boot up it just asks which one I want to boot to (as both have windows loaded on them).
