new service, new problem

I went from DSL to the service offered by ATT Uverse. DSL had a modem then going to my router...

the uverse has wifi built into the router, b/g, but i want to use my router offering n.

i have my router plugging into the modem side to the wired side of the uverse but am unable to reach my router as I had before when connected to the dsl modem.

New U-verse modem:
Manufacturer 2Wire, Inc.
Model 3600HGV

Router is a Belkin F7D1301 v1 Basic Router 150

wall outlet - wire - 3600hgv 'in' - ethernet cable - Belkin 'modem in'

 

uverse modem has dmz and set the belkin to dmz, i still can't print through wifi and can't gain the admin page for the belkin...

feel i am going in the wrong direction
