new system build keeps restarting

Hi all,

I am putting together a system with all new hardware. the problem is that the system seems to want to keep restarting itself without displaying any post or bios text.

I have installed these components;

• Case: ATX Delux 6236-A2 Midi tower Case 470w Black
• Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-H61M-D2-B3 H61 L1155 2x DDR3 SATA2 USB2.0 HD Audio mATX
• CPU: Intel Core i3 2100 3.10Ghz 3MB Cache LGA1155 CPU
• RAM: Kingmax 4G PC-10600 1333MHZ DDR3 Single Stick (FLFF65F-C8KF9 CHE)

My first suspicion is incompatible RAM (even though it seems like the right type/frequency) as the cpu fan will stay spinning without any RAM installed.

Any help appreciated.

 

It could be a host of things.
GPU? or it it on the MOBO.
Incompatible ram is common, try with something else.
Motherboard got the correct power cables? , I know mine has a 24-pin ATX Power connector & 4-pin ATX 12V Power connector , which with only the 24-pin will power on , fans will spin but nothing will happen.
MOBO been installed correctly with all the nylon washers? if its shorting out to the case it could do that.
Do you have a case speaker connected? any error beeps ?

 

Strip the PC down to just motherboard, RAM and CPU and see what you get. My guts say this is PSU related and either there is a power connector not plugged in.
