New to firefox...need some experteez!!

Ok gimme a break.. I have been using K-meleon for ever, and I love it. I have today started trying firefox for the first time and I need some info.
1st off, is it possible to turn off Flash, and adds like K-meleon? same engine why not??right, well let me know.

I am so used to mouse control example: slide r click , goes back a page...slide down r click : close page....slide up r click new tab...
Is this still possible? I cant seem to find any decent options in the tool bar at all! K-meleon seems to have way more.
I really don't mind checking firefox out but k-meleon seems so much simpler....not to mention faster!(though flash and adds are obsolete)
Can i make firefox a little better this way?
Bye the way I have already done the basic "about:config" fingies, possibly I have missed some , or I could add some...???...

You can add extensions which add special custom functions to Firefox depending on your preferences.
Mouse gestures
Flash blocker
Ad blockers
I also recommend NoScript which disables Javascript on web pages by default unless you give permission.

k-meleon has all those, FF only books... instructions i am able to follow young jedi!

i would like to put all tabs on the top, , why stop here? K-meleon had an option (through searching) to put all tabs on the top, and all pages on the bottom....
Um I hav'nt seen a tab yet..... I may be dumb with FF, but ask me anything about K-Meleon and I would mastersize all...LOL
I dont want Bookmark Tabs....Just Tabs....
Mostly I would like to feel comfortable with FF , though (you have to admit K-Meleon is damn good)

Even after DL' ing the ad killer thing, I still get an ad for home depot....????!!! What the F&^KJ? Is K-meleon the real only cure to a browser that doesnt show garbage??? A friend of mine....Long time user of FF, since the beginning...3 mor 4 years, has also just changed to K-meleon....His words...." I like it...Wow, It's good... Wow ....WOWW ... It's frickin Fast too.....OOOH look all the options are there...I dont need to DL plugins... No wonder I will go back, unless someone can clear up some silly stupid stuff for me?? GEEZE K-Meleon, is still the better browser, all the options...if you want them...though some sites dont work, then I dont need to go there, Most of my friends agree. They are switching too... seems funny they are switching browsers with basically the same engin... all I can say...sometimes smaller is better!!

I'm not using the stable version of FF, so I hope this helps. You don't want the bookmarks tab bar? Simply right click on that toolbar, select customize, then uncheck "Bookmarks toolbar".

 

Or rightclick on the menu bar and select customize....I personally have everything on one bar, except for the tabs (of course).

 

seems I am a little outa line....Not the first time...
anyways,as a really smart person I simply rebooted and went from there, and all works.
Still though, FF is nowhere near as fast as KM. I really do like the themes though...
Also, I wanted bookmarks, favorites, and hotlist.seems I dont have the option though...Too bad. I also like with KM the groups option, so I can have my favorite sites at the same time when I want, Comes in handy.
Here is a good question...Is it possible to turn off all the fancy graphics in FF to help make it a bit faster? I suppose also turning off history and what not may help...How?

I wouldn't recommend Fasterfox, its "super prefetching" feature has problems with some sites, and can actually slow page loading. I think using Firetune to tweak Firefox is a better choice: http://majorgeeks.com/FireTune_d4534.html

 

yup thats what i use firetune and they new one they came out with helps the memory leak a lot.
