New To Linux

    Hey, just installed an new hard drive and I went with linux, any tips, or general downfalls anyone know to tell me to avoid? I am also interested in any one that knows where i can find good reading on learning this system ....thanks in advance

    Just be careful. It's easier to screw up than windows. And harder to fix.

    Linux is far more stable and quicker then microsoft windows, but is also far more difficult to learn and master. A good place to get started would be looking at some of the many linux resources online. I suggest www.linux.com and www.linux.org as two to start with.

    What version of linux are you running? What hardware are you using?
