But I hear y'all are the fix all, do all site. Please help! My "boyfriend" bought me a Mac Pro a for Christmas and I have recently discovered that he is using the "locator?" on it to basically keep track of me since our separation a mth ago? He bought it, set it up, Admin on it is in his name and has a password, wasn't really anything that I gave a crap about until his friend informed me of the goings on. I want to turn it off, or disable, can this be done? If not, I will give it back. I really like it, and also I am wondering if he can see everything I have done on this remotely. I have tons gotten of advice on how to handle him, please can someone help me figure out how and if I can disable the locator and make me the administrator.

BTW Location Services sends data to Apple. I suggest you sign up at the site in the first link. You'll get very little, if any, Mac-related advice on MajorGeeks.

it seems to me you should "refresh" the computer. Create your own account and password and then get rid of the old possible spying administrator's account. It's your computer so you should have 100% control of it.

If you are in the US, perhaps you can visit an Apple store and get advice from the techs there as to what you can do to feel safe on your computer.
