I believe I'm going to go RAID 1.

 

RAID 1, so you like the redundancy. Get one more drive, do a RAID 0, and clone it once a week....

yeah, I'm going for the redundancy, not data transfer speed. Another drive? wouldn't you need an even number? three? I supposed i could buy two more, then I'd have redundant and higher speed transfer, then again the hdd are like $75 a crack

 

oh nvrmnd- i get what you're saying. But i could get 2 more drives- then they would backup themselves

 

I was talking about a manual backup onto the one drive. But if you have 3 drives you can run RAID3 with 3 drives and you can rebuild the RAID if one drive fails. If 2 fail, you are screwed.

There a bunch of RAID options. You might want to consider one besides RAID 1
