new/used. PC Dont Have CD Key

Just Got A Used PC With Windows XP Pro on it..
I tryed to Use MS Word to make a Flyer & it Keeps
asking for The CD key ... I dont Have One..
How do I fix This ?

 

You get a CD key? If the person sold you the PC with the software installed on it, if you PAID for the software on the machine, you are entitled to have the install disk with CD key.

 

Well, the first thing I would try is contacting the person whom you purchased it from and asking if they have the key.

Otherwise your options are limited.

Actually, it isn't a big deal to get it: There are a couple of tools on this page here:

Note that these are NOT cracking tools, and it does NOT generate a serial for you. All it does is to extract your existing CD Key.

 

A couple things.

MG has plenty of windows key finders.

Secondly, the poster doesnt need it for Windows, so the point is moot.

 

If you followed the link, you'd see the tools are indeed Office CD Key finders, not Windows key finders.

 

Hmm, he doesn't need it for Office either, from what I can see.

He needs t either for MSWord, or for Works suite is my guess.

Its most likely OEM.

If its asking for a key when using it, how do you suppose it will find the key in the registry?

The point is, as Goldy put it.

Get a key and use it, or turn to an alternative suite, that is for free.

Most major MS products require activation. If the key is not valid or expired, there is no way around it.
