I'm hoping someone can help me. I just had a new "used" computer set up for my office with Windows XP professional and IE 7. I like to manage my own cookies through the explore window. But I don't have a cookies folder. When I try to add one, it tells me one already exists. How do I find this hiding folder so I can clean up the cookies? I've never had this problem with other versions of windows. And I don't want to go through temporary internet files to find them. There are too many things in there.

    Welcome to MajorGeeks, eiu80.

This thread will probably be moved to the Software Forum.

One option is to use CCleaner Slim (No Toolbar).
    • click on "Options"
    • "Cookies"
    • highlight the cookies in the "Cookies to Delete" you want to keep
    • click the [ -> ] button to move them to "Cookies to Keep"
    • Reverse these steps to remove them

    Hi

Only as a reference note as if your on a corporate network your IT dept may not allow you install rights for applications so cookies folder in XP should be here C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Cookies\ (if hidden then right click in any folder Tools > Folder Options > View tab and then from the list tick Show Hidden Files and Folder) although if your PC is on a corporate intranet it maybe located elsewhere so chat with IT support. I know my personal folders in work are on a network drive.

CCleaner if your company allows this application to be installed on their network of PCs is a easy option as Dr M points out on managing cookies and temp junk.
