New vid card problems - IRQ conflict?

Hello,

Just installed a GeForce FX 5200, and it won't play video or 3D games - freezes the whole system immediately and I have to manually reset. Is there any chance it could be an IRQ conflict? It's set to PCI 11, along with the network card and VIA Audio Controller and VIA Universal Host Controller. (Running XP Pro).

Some sources say a video card shouldn't share an IRQ, some say that with XP it just doesn't matter. Any ideas??

 

did you update your drivers and mobo drivers/bios? i seriously doubt that its an irq conflict but if you go to the device manager youll find a "!" next to a hardware piece if it is.
